Hello! Today is the second day of May My Favorite Things kit reveal. This month kit names Sketchy Flowers. Today I want to show you absolutely another card — it’s a little bit elegant but with some bold additions of the black color.
New Mid Month Free with $60 Die-namics
YOU deserve to be celebrated card
I added only two ink colors to the kit and some clear sequins to make this car. But I like it! I even thought to put it on the third day post, but post it today.
I started with the pieces of the white card stock and stamped some leaves on the top of the panel. I used Gumdrop Green ink for stamping the outline images and the second solid layer is stamped with Sour Apple ink. I like to you these two ink color together for floral stamps — they look really goof together.
Then I sponged with Sour Apple ink over the leaves to add the shadow effect, now it looks like you look through the green veil. And to make the background more blurred (and maybe a little water colored) — I sprinkled it with the water. I really like how dye-inks react with the water! It always add such a special detail to the card.
But I wanted to add even more details, so I took a little of Gumdrop Green ink on the brush and sprinkled it on my background (let it dry before sprinkling with different colors — so they will not flow away). Don’t try to take the color directly from the ink pad — put a little of ink on the acrylic block (or I use glass mat) and then take it with your brush.
The longest part of this card was to make the chipboard effect. I used YOU die-namics and die cut YOU word of my green background. Then I cut out four black words with the same die-namics and glued all layers together and placed my green layer on the top. I like the result!
On the picture below you can see how it looks — beautiful layering!!
And at the end I added the black trip with the white embossed sentiment. And adhered some clear sequins — they look like drops of dew on fresh foliage. See you very soon with the third release post!
