Altenew Guest Designer November 2017 @akossakovskaya #cardmaking

Hello! Today I am a guest designer on Altenew blog. So happy to be back for a day after stepping down from the team. :)) And today I want to show you my three cards I made with Altenew products. What we need before Christmas season? More cards! And what don’t we have? The time! So I want to show three ways to make the simple cards that will look like you made them for hours! And you really don’t need to many supplies, believe me.

The first card is the simplest. I like to use as many as I can when play with materials. Paper isn’t too cheap, so try to use it. And I talk now about the die cut negatives. Some silhouettes look very good! For example — the trees from Night Before Christmas Die Set. Even without the stamping I like this silhouette. So I used the negative as the main detail of my card.

What can you add to make the festive card? Add the background that will be stand out of the negative! I made the bright green textured front panel for my card.

I started with the blending a piece of the white card stock with Forest Glades Crisp Dye Ink. Then I embossed it with the cover plate. I recommend to use neutral or geometric patterns — they work better with the floral elements. After embossing I sponged the top of the texture with Evergreen Crisp Dye Ink a little. And then sprinkled with the water to get the spots. All this steps allow you to create the deep background. Nice support for such simple element as the white die cut negative.

The last step is to assemble the card (use the foam tape to adhere the negative) and to add some sentiments and clear drops and sequins.

My next card is almost the same as the first one, But I used another die cut technique here. This is well known partial die cutting. It always look amazing! And again I used the embossed and blended green background as on the previous card.

For the tree I used the same Night Before Christmas Die Set — I die cut the part of the tree of the white card stock panel and stamped the coordinating tree from Night Before Christmas Stamp Set. To make the ombre effect I used misti-tool. I stamped the tree with Frayed Leaf Crisp Dye Ink, and then, without the removing stamp of the stamped image, I stamped again with Forest Glades and Evergreen Crisp Dye Inks. But for the darker colors I applied the inks only on the edges of the stamp with the sponge.

And again the white embossed on the black card stock sentiment and some clear sequins and drops.

The last card is my favorite)) It is super simple, but sooo festive! It is one layered, but you can see its depth and dimensions! I started with blending a piece of the white card stock with Frayed Leaf and Forest Glades Crisp Dye Inks. I applied the darker shade only on the edges of the panel. Then I stamped the leaves from Majestic Mistletoe Stamp Set on the edges.

To make the depth effect I also sprinkled a little with the water for the spots and with the white paint and old tooth brush for making the show effect. The sentiment is cut of the white foam sheet with Night Before Christmas Die Set. And the second part is stamped directly on the card.

I’m so happy to see your cards again, Anna! They are truly wonderful — and it’s a bonus that I have those gorgeous embossing folders! There might just be some CASEing happening!
Your cards are nearly as beautiful as your darling little girl — six? How did happen so quickly?

Зимние, но такие яркие яркие открытки. Открытка с негативом вырубки бесподобна!
