Hello! One of my favorite brands — Papertrey Ink — turns 11 this month! And I want to join Anniversary Sketch Challenge. I just received my new stamp set — Brushed Birds, and wanted to try it! I linked all supplies on the text. On this post I use compensated affiliate links (which means if you make a purchase I will get a small commission with no additional cost for you).
I picked the sketch by Dawn — actually this is my favorite type of sketches! I rotated it a little but retained the main idea — something big in the corner and the sentiment. On my card i didn’t make the frame — it is some branches on the background and the blank space in the middle.
Playing with the birds I lifted the idea from Betsy’s card. I adore how she stamped the birds and actually that card sold me this stamp set!)) So for my first project I made the same. I used misti tool to stamp few different color — one color per time.
The hardest part here was to create the background. I gently blended the white panel with Berry Sorbet, Hawaiian Shores and Blueberry Sky inks on the edges. Then I sprinkled with the water and with the same ink colors, using old tooth brush. Next step was to stamp the leaves and branches on the corners. I applies the same three inks on the glass mat and added some water. Then I inked the leaves from Altenew’s Floral Shadow stamp set with these mixed with water inks and stamped them. The last step — I sprinkled the entire background with the white gouache.
I then adhered the ready front panel to the card base and stamped ‘serenity word’ on it. Foam mounted the birds and added the white heat embossed sentiment and some enamel dots.
Have a good day!
