Welcome to Altenew February 2018 Release Blog Hop, friends! You are here from Yoonsun‘s blog and now my turn to introduce my projects for today. This month Altenew releases the new bundle of stamps, dies and inks. And I had the unique opportunity to play with them before they are on sale. All products are linked at the end of the post.
To celebrate this release, Altenew is giving away a $50 gift certificate to SIX lucky winners! Please leave a comment on the Altenew Card Blog and/or Altenew Scrapbook Blog by Wednesday, February 14th for a chance to win. Six winners will be announced on the Altenew blogs on 2/16/2018. And I will pick one lucky winner to receive a $30 gift certificate from this post comment section.
I made two cards for this blog hop — with the birds and the stitched flower. I really like both these sets, they are elegant and interesting. And the birds are such an universal thing!
But these ones from Birds of a Feather stamp set are pretty big as you can see! )) I planned to place three birds on one card, but there was not enough place for them all. I used few colors for every bird, I wanted to make them bright and cheerful. Also you can see the shadow effect — I used misti and blending tool to make the gradient effect for every part of the birds. And I then die cut them with the coordinating dies.
For the background I blended two corners of the front panel with three green ink colors. Then I sprinkled it a little with the water — Altenew Crisp inks react very well with the water and make such neat spots. Also I die cut two branches of white card stock and colored them with Copic markers.
The sentiment is white heat embossed on the strip of the white vellum. I adhered it with two pieces of the double sided tape to the front panel and then foam mounted my birds to this panel.
The second card, where I played with the new Sewn With Love stamp set, looks pretty simple, but I spend much more time working with it. Because before to get the perfect flower, I had some rejected ones. I stamped all layers in Red Sunset Oval ink Set using misti tool and blending tool to add the shadow effect to each layer. The leaves and stem are stamped in Green Fields Oval Ink Set. And then I fussy cut the flower.
For the background I cut the front panel of the light gray card stock and stamped another flower in gray colors. It adds the texture and dimensions to the card. Then I foam mounted the colored flower and added the banner with the white heat embossed sentiment. The last touch is some black and white enamel accents.
