Spring Coming Your Way Card
I can’t even tell you which one is my favorite, because I love them both! The first one is one layered card with tons of no-line pencil coloring. I like the fresh look and how everything turned out here.
I started with stamping the wreath from SSS Wreath Greetings stamp set in the white ink on the dark green card stock. And then I started to color all the leaves with pencils. I used Lyra watercolor pencils — colored with the white one and then with two shades of green over it. Okay, it wasn’t fast, but it didn’t take the ages to color — only two Flash series episodes LOL.
As you can see I also colored the stems — it looks better and more natural. On the picture below you can see some step by step pictures. I like how it looks on the first step! I even thought to stop coloring after this stage.
For the sentiment, I die cut word «spring» of the white card stock with SSS Four Seasons dies and adhered it to the ready card panel. The additional «coming your way» phrase from SSS Four Seasons Sayings stamp set is white heat embossed on the black skinny banner. I foam mounted it to the card so that it covers the word «spring» a little. And some clear sequins and drops as final details.
Summer Is Coming Card
Next card is about the summer. For the sentiments I used the same SSS Four Seasons dies and Four Seasons Sayings stamp set. The wreath is from the same SSS Wreath Greetings stamp set too. But here I played with new SSS Marilyn Full Card die, but used it as stencil. You can find the process video below.
I die cut the stencil of the masking paper with this die and used three Distress ink shades for blending: Twisted Citron, Mowed Lawn and Lucky Clover. I then applied Nuvo glimmer paste over it and removed the mask. But I made a mistake on this step. Masking paper becomes wet of all pastes and paints and it becomes hard to remove it. So the task is to make everything super fast. Or to apply a paste on the first third of the card panel and remove the masking paper a little. Then apply the paste on the next part and remove it and so on.
And here is the video for the second card:
