Hello friends! So excited to join today to Simon Says Stamp‘s new Good Vibes release! New products are really great and full of summer fun and I am so happy I to be invited to this blog hop. I created a pair of CAS cards using one stamp set. All products are listed on this post with the affiliate links (which means if you make a purchase I will get a small commission with no additional cost for you).
Simon is giving away a $25 coupon to every stop on the hop from blog comment section. The winners will be chosen over the weekend and post on Simon Says Stamp store blog on Wednesday.
I found Summer Cuddly Critters stamp set in my package, and I had the idea to make something flat and bright. I used masking paper to create the front panels with the colorful cluster. I also allowed the images to go beyond the blended backgrounds — it adds more dynamics to the cards.
I started with stamping the cat and dog with the accessorizes from Summer Cuddly Critters stamp set on Neenah solar white card stock in black ink. I then stamped the same images on the masking paper and fussy cut them. I adhered the masks over the stamped on the front panel images.
Next step was to mask the front panels’ edges. I cut out the wide stripes of masking paper and adhered them to the card stock. I then blended the backgrounds with Distress inks. To make the waves on the card with the dog, I die cut the waves border with MFT Ocean Waves die-namics. When the blending was finished, I removed the masking paper.
Now it’s Copic markers turn. I colored the critters with them and added some white blinks and accents with the white gel pen. I then stamped the sentiments (for the cat’s card I used the phrase from Vacation Time stamp set).
And the last step was to add some textures. I made large and small dots with Copic markers of the matching to the background colors. And some white dots. I like the look they add!
Have a great day and good luck!
